I love to learn and to travel. I have been to most of the states in our country and plan on visiting the rest someday. I have attended several colleges or universities and will continue to be a lifelong learner. I have had a lot of challenges in my life, I have found that these challenges have strengthened me and helped me to become a better person.
I worked in accounting and business management for several years, I did it to support my family but didn’t enjoy the work. So when my children were getting older and started to get jobs and thinking about what careers they wanted I gave them the advice to choose a job or career that they would love to do every day and that way work would never be something that they dreaded, it would be something they looked forward to and enjoyed. So when the owner of the company I worked for passed away and the family down sized the company to exclude my job I decided to take my own advice. I started WGU teachers college.
Teaching has always been a part of my life and I have always loved and enjoyed it. I taught my younger sister to read before she started school when I was only seven, I served many years in my church teaching children’s Sunday school, I taught early morning seminar for three years, and I homeschooled my own children for seven years.
This journey to become a teacher has been both challenging and rewarding, I love the fact that I will spend the rest of my life doing what I really love doing.
