The students will create a conclusion for their research paper that refers back to at least 2 facts in their thesis statement.

The students will create a hook or attention grabbing opening sentence which has at least one fact they will be including in their research paper.

For the following learning goal Students will create the elements for a coversheet and a reference page for a research paper.

I will be using the following objectives:

The student will create a reference sheet which includes at least 5 sources cited in MLA format. The student will create a cover sheet for their research paper which includes the title of the paper, the student’s name, and the student’s class name.

The students will use a computer, Times New Roman, and 12 point font to create the coversheet, reference page and the rest of the research paper.

The learning goals and objectives I have provided are aligned to my unit of instruction because the whole unit is designed to teach the students how to create a research paper with all the elements involved in that process. This unit is the student’s first time writing a research paper so the lessons had to be geared towards that. I searched through the state standards so that all of my learning goals and objectives were aligned with them. I made sure the goals and objectives were an outline for each lesson I taught. I had to teach each step of writing a research paper to the class so I aligned my goals and objectives for my unit toward reaching the ending goal of completing a research paper of their own.
