Note Takers

Follow these instructions if having a note taker is included in your Letter of Reasonable Accommodations.

  1. As a student, you may know or observe someone in your class who takes comprehensive notes.  Ask if s/he is willing to serve as note taker and if so, give them a copy of the Note Taker Directions, which you will find below.
  2. If you are unable to secure a volunteer, give your professor a copy of the Note Taker Directions.  Once a volunteer has been identified, your professor will give that student the Note Taker Directions and inform you of their name and email address.
  3. Complete a Note Taker Form online HERE.
  4. Attend class and complete all assigned work.  Note-takers are not a substitute for attendance.
  5. Take your own notes and use the notes from the note taker to supplement yours.  They are not to be shared with anyone.
  6. Direct all questions about the course toward the professor and not the note taker.
  7. The Coordinator will confirm with you at end of the course that note taking has been completed successfully.
