Sub-standard 4c: Understanding Content Knowledge in Early Education

My read-aloud lesson plan demonstrates my understanding of “making connections”, a large part of the ELA curriculum in early childhood education.  It is in kindergarten and first grades that children really start to explore literature and learn techniques to get the most out of the books they read.  I have taken several early literacy classes, and I feel this lesson is a good synthesis of everything I have learned in this area.  Although there is much more to any quality curriculum, this lesson shows that I understand and am able to apply ELA content knowledge in early education.
