This lesson plan shows my understanding of meaningful curriculum because it incorporates tactile experiences, a key ingredient in meaningful learning for anybody.  By physically interacting with the material(s) being learned about, humans, regardless of age, are able to retain and fully internalize more of the lesson.  Hands-on, tactile experiences also lead to the ability to do a truly authentic assessment.  By asking children open-ended questions throughout the lesson, the full range of their knowledge and abilities can be shared.
