Participate in a Staff Meeting

On October 7th of 2019 I attended a staff meeting for the social studies department of William Penn.

The meeting was relatively short as we discussed how and when to properly greet students, and PLCs or Professional Learning Communities. First we discussed accountability and that teachers should be at the door greeting students before class, in an effort to motivate them to arrive on time and ready to begin the class. More so specifically we discussed the various social studies PLCs. Within the social studies PLC there are departments for: special education, politics, civics/geography, economy 1, economy 2, U.S. history, world history, and sociology. Staff members from their individual PLCs discussed at what time they would meet with an administrator to discuss semester changes, suggestions for alterations, or problems/concerns.
