Answer Key

Above is the answer key used for the Unit 3 Test for Economics. Questions 1 through 20 were multiple choice. The last question was an essay question where students were required to draw and explain a graph; I however did not grade that aspect as it is more extensive and my mentor teacher wanted to review them. The red lines drawn between multiple choice section were to identify at which question each page ended with.

There were two types of tests "ID: A" and "ID: B." Both had the same exact questions, but were formated and rearragned differently to discourage and prevent cheating. Students were encouraged by their teacher to draw any charts, graphs, or complete any math on the test that may help them come to a conclusion...he did not however encourage doodling  in an effort to come to a solution. The teacher also encouraged students to put their answers on the lines to the left of the questions, instead of only circling thier answer. I graded questions 1-20, which was composed of multiple choice.

Here the student got the entire page correct.

The "XC" that is located to the left of #13 stands for "extra credit." This CP class had two less class periods than the other classes (due to school programs), and therefore these students did not have the same amount of time to complete their online lessons and assessments. Again, this is a self-paced variation of a flipped classroom. So in an effort to keep ALL of the economic classes still on the same time line, my mentor teacher offered the last online lesson and assessment to be utulized as extra credit on the test. The last lesson covered the topic of "Demand Elasticity," and if the students watched the video and took the assessment they could apply their knowledge from the lesson to the test. Their knowledge and comprehension in regards to "Demand Elasticity" would help them answer the questions and gain extra credit on the exam. In fact, students had the potential to receive 30 points of extra credit on this exam.

As you can see, I had to edit the documentation for page 4 #19. After noting to my mentor teacher that *almost* every student had answered the question wrong, which seemed statistically striking, he looked over the question and realized he had put the wrong answer for the answer key. The student did however get the extra credit for #20 correct.
