William Penn High School in Wilmington Delaware is an extremely colossal sized high school with a bursting diverse student population. Within the Colonial District of Delaware there are 8 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, and yet only ONE high school (William Penn). Currently there are 2,277 students, and the school continues to grow with the student population. It is currently the largest high school in the state. The school mascot is the "Colonial," based on William Penn who had originally landed in New Castle when first arriving to the Americas. The school has continued to expand by adding additions to each end of the building, while also adding modern rooms including the "Innovation Center." Due to the school's massive size there are three cafeterias, multiple administration rooms, as well as multiple counselor rooms, and one auditorium. The graduation rate (within 4 years) is 81.98%. The principal of the high school is Lisa Brewington.
