(I know that the attendance has not been corrected yet. Please be patient. I have all past roll sheets as verification)

1. All students should have a TaskStream account by now and your two folios should be uploaded. This is a course requirement. If you still have not registered, go ahead and do so promptly. Afterwards, contact Shirley Wilson, the TaskStream administrator, at sjwilson@uab.edu to have your program and OSS folios uploaded.

Include the following in your email:

Full Name (official name as documented by the registra)

Program area or intended program area (Early Childhood/Elementary, Secondary, or Physical Education) Note: music, art, and specific content areas (e.g. math, English, science, history) are considered "secondary"

Also state that you need your OSS folio as well

2. Education majors should prepare to pay for the ALSDE Background Check and the AECTP/APTTP. They are required to pass the course for education majors. I will show you how to register during class. Once you have registered or have proof of already completing the background check and/or AECTP/APTTP, you must place the documentation into your student folder in order to receive credit.

3. Students must sign the roll each class meeting. This is how attendance is marked. If you miss 2 class meetings, excused or unexcused, the highest grade you can make is a "C". If you miss over 3 absences, you will need to drop the course.

4. It is not in your best interest to be late or miss class. This may result in a professional disposition write-up and expulsion from the Teacher Education Program.

5. Please remember, once the BlackBoard portals for discussion boards and article questions have been closed, I will not re-open them, unless there is a technical problem with the BlackBoard system. This was explained in class and I provide numerous reminders of assignment due dates/times.

6. The Spontaneous Writing Evaluation is graded by the instructors within your program area. Once I have turned in your evaluation to them for grading, it is out of my hands. Therefore, I do not know for sure when your scores will be available. I do my best to keep you updated on the status of your results. Typically, it takes about 3-4 weeks to receive scores back. Please be patient in this process.
