Annnouncements

1. All students must purchase a TaskStream account so your folios can be uploaded. This is a course of requirement. If you are unsure that you will remain as an education major or are low on funds, select the 1 semester option for $25. Once you have registered for TaskStream, contact Shirley Wilson, the TaskStream administrator, at sjwilson@uab.edu to have your program and OSS folios uploaded.

Include the following in your email:

Full Name (official name as documented by the registra)

Program area or intended program area (Early Childhood/Elementary, Secondary, or Physical Education) Note: music, art, and specific content areas (e.g. math, English, science, history) are considered "secondary"

Also state that you need your OSS folio as well

2. Education majors should prepare to pay for the ALSDE Background Check and the APTTP. They are required to pass the course for education majors. I will show you how to register during class. Once you have registered or have proof of already completing the background check and/or APTTP, you must place the documentation into your student folder in order to receive credit.

3. Students must sign the roll each class meeting. This is how attendance is marked. If you miss 2 class meetings, excused or unexcused, the highest grade you can make is a "C". If you miss over 3 absences, you will need to drop the course.

4. It is not in your best interest to be late or miss class. This may result in a professional disposition write-up and expulsion from the Teacher Education Program.

5. We will begin TaskStream training this Thursday. Everyone must have their TaskStream accounts registered and their folios uploaded by then. I will not go back and re-train if you do not have your folios by then.

1. Autobiography (saved to your USB drive or emailed to yourself as an attachment; must contain the professional picture; must be on one of the provided templates).  We will do the "DRO" and submission in TaskStream in class.
