Annnouncements
1. Good day students.
Please remember, the 9:00 and 12:30 classes will not meet at their normal time today. We will have two writing workshop sessions at 11:00-12:15 and 2:00-3:15 in room 174 in the Sterne Library. Please attend ONE of the sessions. You are to email me if you are unable to attend either session.
2. Education majors should prepare to pay for the ALSDE Background Check and the AECTP/APTTP. They are required to pass the course for education majors. I will show you how to register during class. Once you have registered or have proof of already completing the background check and/or AECTP/APTTP, you must place the documentation into your student folder in order to receive credit.
3. Students must sign the roll each class meeting. This is how attendance is marked. If you miss 2 class meetings, excused or unexcused, the highest grade you can make is a "C". If you miss over 3 absences, you will need to drop the course.
4. It is not in your best interest to be late or miss class. This may result in a professional disposition write-up and expulsion from the Teacher Education Program.
5. Please remember, once the BlackBoard portals for discussion boards and article questions have been closed, I will not re-open them, unless there is a technical problem with the BlackBoard system. This was explained in class and I provide numerous reminders of assignment due dates/times.
6. Go to https://www.taskstream.com/ts/zimmerman-brown/EDU200CourseDocumentSpring2013 to access the EDU 200 Course Document used as your text.
7. The Spontaneous Writing Evaluation will take place on Tuesday, February 5th.
Thursday, January 31st, will be a study/preparation day. We will NOT meet as a class. Use this time wisely to further prepare for the Spontaneous Writing Evaluation. Some suggestions are to write practice essays, have someone read over your essay and use the writing rubric to provide feedback, or find resources online or in the library.
