Praxis II

Overview:

The PRAXIS II is now mandated as part of the "highly qualified" requirements set forth by the Alabama State Department of Education.  Students must take the Praxis II at least once before applying to Student Teaching.  They must pass the Praxis II before applying for certification.

It is recommended that you take Praxis II after you have completed the majority of your coursework (i.e., the last term before your student teaching).

Registration for Praxis II may be done online at
www.ets.org/praxis or by contacting the Educational Testing Service.

Praxis II dates are available online.

Please refer to the attachments below for additional information.

Check out this site for additional information about the Praxis II (provided by the Alabama State Department of Education):

IMPORTANT NOTES
When you take the Praxis II, copies of your scores will need to go to both the Alabama State Department of Education and to UAB.  When you go to take your test, you will need to provide the UAB Code number.  Click on the attachment below (Praxis II Reporting Codes) to learn more about the requirements for submitting codes for your tests!!!
