Ethics

"Ethics" is generally defined as a philosophical discipline that is concerned with human conduct and moral decision making" (Van Hoose & Kottler, 1985, p. 3).  

Examples of Unethical Behavior (Gladding, 2005)
1)  Violation of confidentiality 
2)  Exceeding one's level of professional competence 
3)  Negligent practice 
4)  Claiming expertise that one does not possess  
5)  Imposing one's values on a student 
6)  Sexual activity with a student
