UAB School of Education students are now required to take and pass all sections of this test BEFORE admission to TEP (Effective:  Spring, 2007)!

Overview of the AECTP/APTTP:
The AECTP/APTTP Basic Skills Assessment may be taken any time before being admitted to TEP/School of Education.  Part I of this test covers basic competencies/skills that all teaching candidates should have as they enter any program on a college level.  It tests three areas:
   
(1)  Applied Mathematics 
(2)  Reading for Information
(3)  Writing 

A few registration packets for the AECTP/APTTP are availabe in Room 100. It is recommended that you register online.
