INTERPRETIVE TASK:
1. Main Idea :After viewing the two modern flamenco clips and reading the lyrics from the song, "Dibujo en el Aire", from the album "Pokito a Poko" by Chambao, students will write 3 summarizing statements in Spanish about themes protrayed in the flamenco music, as well as making a "free list" of feelings and emotions as portrayed in the songs. (This is done entirely in Spanish.)
2. Supporting details: From the Chambao reading and the song lyrics from "Dibujo en el Aire" (see web links), answer the following questions.
NOTE: These would be in Spanish for an AP class.
* What does the word "Chambao" mean?
*Which region of Spain does the group Chambao represent?
*What does this group try to achieve with their style of flamenco music?(Name their style of flamenco music.)
*Explain the title of the album "Pokito a poko."
*Who is the major singer of the group? What other current famous Puerto Rican singer shares a song with her/him?
*What are the primary instruments used in Chambao's music?
*After hearing the song "Dibujo en el Aire", what do you think is the main theme? (Personal interpretation)
*What are three words in the song that support your idea of the main theme?
*Why did you think Chambao wrote this song? (Purpose, audience and goal)
