Materials:
IN THE COMPUTER CENTER: Using a list of websites as prepared by the teacher or students (SEE BELOW FOR SOME EXAMPLES), the students (already divided into groups of 4-5) will access one of the sites about flamenco and listen to a flamenco song and read about the artist . The students will use the worksheets as outlined below to work on specific information to present to other groups in a "jigsaw" format. After the jigsaw activity, all students will converse about the flamenco topics presented to them. The Interpersonal Rubric (attached) will be used for assessment purposes. All students are expected to participate in the target language throughout the 2 days allocated for this activity. (All World Language National Standards are addressed. See previous Interpretive Task section for list.)
NOTE: All worksheets would be written in Spanish for the AP level.
WORKSHEET #1:
1. DESCRIPCION DEL ARTISTA: After reading about the artist, the group decides what to talk about with the other groups (in the jigsaw activity) about the important facts about the artist. The group will discuss what they like about the song, the artist's style, and will intepret the flamenco style of music and dance, including instruments and singer(s).

2. DESCRIPCION DE LA CANCION: The group will "brainstorm" in order to gather a consensus about the song's meaning as related to our study of flamenco themes and messages. What do you think the artist is trying to teach us through the song? What did you learn after hearing/understanding the song's lyrics? Pay close attention to your group's decisions as no notes may be used for this part.

GROUP ACTIVITY: JIGSAW
Each member of one group will be moved to another group, so that one member from each group will join another group. (Each group will have a member from each numbered group, #1-5, so that each group has 5 members.)
