Creating a Texas Web Page

The purpose of this lesson is to create a Web Page about the State of Texas.

Home Page (Save as index.htm or index.html)

• Title (example: The Greatest State on Earth) – be creative
• Select a background color
• Add a large graphic utilizing the shape of Texas or a map
• Create links to other pages (8 other pages besides homepage)

Additional Required Pages –

• Texas History (ie graphics which relate to historical events
• Texas Trivia
• Famous Persons Page (must have graphics and have at least 3 people)
• My favorite Texas Spot
• Tourism in Texas
• Favorite Athletic Team
• Highlights of the Texas State Fair, the Houston Livestock and Rodeo (or other major Texas event)
• Additional page--Your choice

Things to remember:

• Be creative
• 8 pages other than index
• Use readable fonts
• All pages should have links back to the homepage
• Use a different color font other than black
• Don’t over kill a page with graphics
• Spell check all pages
• Make sure all links work
• Save everything into one folder called “Texas Web Page”

Do not rush through this assignment. Employ as many appropriate web design elements as you can and still keep a professional design appearance.
