Although technology has the ability to respond to social needs and problems, it can also create social problems. Social problems play a major role in the school setting and to prevent the negative impacts, teachers and students need to know about it ahead of time. Social issues include privacy issues, health-related concerns, fears on technology being overused/misused, the risks that come with being online, and malware/viruses/spam and hacking. One way to solve this issue is limiting the websites/apps that can be used. There are young children who know and have their own facebook, instagram, and/or snapchat accounts. This exposes children to the harms of the internet and increases the chance of cyberbullying. Another way to solve this issue is knowing how much time to spend with the internet. The longer a person is on the internet, the more risk he or she is at with falling victim of these social issues.
