I am a Performance Development Specialist with Starwood Vacation Ownership.  Currently, I am in my Capstone Course to satisfy my Master’s Program in Instructional Design and Technology, with it being done by October 30, 2011. My passion is creating curriculum and presenting it to diverse audiences. As an avid learner, I am always reading within the field of Training and Development and learning new technologies and designs to help individuals learn in an effective manner. It is my goal to continue my professional aspirations of helping individuals and organizations in maximizing their potential.

As a working mother of three children, I enjoy spending time at the beach with my supportive husband. We have a dog and cat as well, which keeps our lives full of excitement! A southern bell at heart, I spent my primary years in Charleston, S.C. and moved to Florida when I was 10 years old. Obtaining my undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Central Florida and spending the majority of my career in child welfare, over the last 7 years I have made learning my vocation. Professionally, as I reflect upon my Master's program and the extensive work I have done, I am grateful to the numerous opportunities I have been given. Through hard work, perseverance and a supportive group of friends and family, I am confident that I will continue to help organizations move into a learning environment. In this learning environment associates can transform their individual and global contributions, which results in increased productivity and pride for the associates and the company at large.  It is through honesty, collaboration and dedication, we can achieve amazing accomplishments.

"Learning and teaching should not stand on opposite banks and just watch the river flow by; instead, they should embark together on a journey down the water."

Resume

This resume serves as an introduction into my professional skills and accomplishments. This is a snapshot of the type of professional activities I have partaken in, as well as indicates the impact of the trainings I have facilitated and developed; however, what it will not show you is how I deliver educational experiences to individuals and groups I have the pleasure to interface with. Technology has become an integral part of the learning environment. Distance Education has many wonderful benefits and features. Online educational experiences can be created to maximize results and are an excellent choice in much technical training. It is also necessary to have an Instructional Designer who has the expertise and ability to analyze the organizational strengths and needs to determine the appropriate educational delivery that will have the most successful outcomes. In many organizations, cultivating interpersonal skills individually and collectively can be challenging. These types of training are best captured during a face to face training event where behavioral measures can be employed and evaluated.

It is my personal objective to understand each company's unique internal and external customer base. In accomplishing this vital step, it allows a better evaluation to effectively customize a training and development program that will meet and exceed expectations. As an organization seeks to improve their bottom line, the only way to accomplish amazing results is through the development of those individuals who make up the company.
