Mr. Zach Alley, Intervention Specialist

Welcome to my professional portfolio!

I am Zach Alley and I completed my student teaching with Ms. Kellye Wheaton in the 5th grade ELA classroom at Allardt Elementary in Allardt, TN.

I graduated in December of 2014 from Western Governors University with my Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, grades K-6 with an additional endorsement in Middle School Education, grades 4-8.

I just recently served as an Intervention Specialist for Tier II & Tier III students with Reading and Math defieciencies.

I have an extensive background in management, leadership, and education.

I have served many roles throughout the school system, prior to my student teaching, such as: youth mentor, academic tutor, paraprofessional, substitute teacher, and Intervention Specialist.

I have administered benchmark, writing, MAP, STAR, and end of the year assessments. I have also administered read-aloud assesments for SPED students.

I have assisted in leading and developing the School Wide Positive Behavior Support program for two schools within Fentress County. I am a firm believer in the SWPBS program because IT WORKS!

I have worked in an inclusive classroom setting in the roles of both the inclusion and general education instructors.

I have a background in explicit phonics instruction (including some Saxon Phonics techiniques), direct instruction (Reading Mastery & Corrective Reading), and intervention strategies for Reading, Writing, and Math.

I have had thorough training in ELA, and have been complimented for my effective practice of rigorous and explicit literacy instruction.

These are just a few of my experiences during my journey as a growing professional in the education field. Please feel free to check out my current portfolio here. I look forward to serving as an educator for the students in your community!
