How do I submit for evaluation?

HOW SHOULD I SAVE WORK FOR SUBMISSION? To ensure your work is graded quickly and accurately, you will want to be careful to save the file appropriately. No matter the program you use, be sure to save in one of the following file formats to ensure your work is graded quickly and accurately:

•  .doc or .docx (word-processing documents)

•  .xls or .xlsx (spreadsheets)

•  .ppt or .pptx (presentation slides)

•  .pdf (portable document format)

These file formats are the most stable, are compatible with most software, and can be opened reliably nearly every time. This reliability is important, as you want your work viewed correctly by the Evaluation Department. If your work is saved in other formats, it may result in evaluation delays and viewing errors. For more detailed information on saving files for uploading them, see the “How Do I Save My Work for Taskstream Submission?” web link below.

HOW DO I SUBMIT WORK? When you’re ready to submit work, select the name of the assessment task for which you are ready to submit. Before submitting, verify that the instructions and rubric match the work you have prepared.

Upload File: Look for the yellow bar at the bottom of the page labeled “Add.” Select “Attachments,” and then under the “Add new Attachment” box, select the radio button for “Upload from Computer.” A popup will let you upload a file from your computer by dragging the file into the popup or by selecting “Add Files” and browsing to the file on your computer. Upload all the files needed to respond to the assessment task. Select “Upload and Close.” You should get a message that says, “Your file was successfully added and appears on the list below.” Verify that all the files you uploaded are the ones written to address the task. Select “Save and Return,” and the files should show in the “Attachment Section” under the name of the course and directions.

Check Originality Report: An arrow at the top right side of the page will include a light bulb and the note “Don’t forget to submit!” But first click on the “Scores/Results” tab, and select “Request Report” under the “Originality Report” column. The report may take up to 10 minutes to run, but checking the report before submitting your work may save time later on. For more information on academic authenticity and originality, please see the “How to Interpret the Originality Report” web link below.

Submit Work: Once you have reviewed the originality report, select “Submit Work” under the “Actions” column. You can also select the “Work” tab and then select “Submit Work” in the upper right-hand corner. Once your work is successfully uploaded, you will see “Position in the Queue” and “Now Evaluating” information, which will give you an idea when you can expect to see your results. See the “How do I Find out my Task Position in the Evaluation Queue?” web link below for more information on how this information is calculated.
