This week’s e-Portfolio assignment meets the following criteria as outlined by the Arizona Professional Teacher Standards because it effectively uses technology to assist with the learning process. The lesson shows that the instructors is knowledgeable of her subject, that she makes connections with real life situation, and that the instructor is capable of creating lesson plans. The assignment also reveals that the instructors has the abilities to identify and locate technological resources that are suitable and accurate. Overall the lesson is an example of an enhanced learning experience created to address content and student technology standards.

AZ- Arizona's Professional Teacher Standards
Standard 3: The teacher implements and manages instruction that develops students' abilities to meet Arizona's academic standardsThe performance assessment shall measure the extent to which the teacher:
Assessed performance 1: Appropriately implements a teacher-designed lesson plan
Assessed performance 10: Connects lesson content to real life situations when appropriate
Standard 7: The teacher has general academic knowledge as demonstrated by the attainment of a bachelor's degree. The teacher also has specific academic knowledge in his or her subject area or areas sufficient to develop student knowledge and performance to meet Arizona's academic standardsThe subject knowledge assessment shall measure the extent to which the teacher has knowledge of:
Assessed performance 5: Connections between knowledge of the subject area and real life situations at the level of the students being taught

Standard II: Planning And Designing Learning Environments and Experiences. Teachers plan and design effective learning environments and experiences supported by technology
Performance Indicator A: Design developmentally appropriate learning opportunities that apply technology-enhanced instructional strategies to support the diverse needs of learners.
Performance Indicator C: Identify and locate technology resources and evaluate them for accuracy and suitability.
Performance Indicator D: Plan for the management of technology resources within the context of learning activities.
Standard III: Teaching, Learning, and the Curriculum. Teachers implement curriculum plans, that include methods and strategies for applying technology to maximize student learning.
Performance Indicator A: Facilitate technology-enhanced experiences that address content standards and student technology standards.
Performance Indicator B: Use technology to support learner-centered strategies that address the diverse needs of students.
Performance Indicator C: Apply technology to develop students’ higher order skills and creativity.
Performance Indicator D: Manage student learning activities in a technology-enhanced environment.

Tri-Fold Brochure

Creating the tri-fold brochure on copyright was an effective means to demonstrate professional development that meets criteria as designated by the  Arizona Professional Teaching Standards and the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS) for all Teachers.  The project exhibits an understanding of legal and ethical issues related to education.  The project also emphasizes the use of technology to develop instructional materials. The brochure helps to solidify the context in which schools/teachers operate within the larger community focusing the attention on copyright laws and the legal concept of fair-use.

Standard VI: Social, Ethical, Legal, and Human Issues. Teachers understand the social,ethical,legal,and human issues surrounding the use of technology in PK-12 schools and apply those principles in practice.
Performance Indicator A: Model and teach legal and ethical practice related to technology use.
