Project 1 Option II January 31, 2011
My journey of discovering the technology which is available has been simply fun! I had no inhibitions of walking closer to the proverbial edge of technology to play. I initially went to the Disney site Kerpoof because I envisioned sharing it with my preschoolers. I explored it at length and found that it to be an asset as my students and I develop our future movie making skills. The next site that I explored was Storybird, that is my favorite as it allows the author and illustrator in all of us to shine through even though the illustrations are preset the author still has creative liberty. I sought out a math site and found kidzone@ed.gov to be user friendly and age appropriate. I created a simple pie graph to display which site I preferred most, follow the link below to view it. I still need to add a few touches to this but so far so good. Thanks for taking time to read this.
Annotation:
1. This project was created by Darcy Barber.
I collaborated with S. Brian VanGorder on the navigation of 2.0 web sites
however; we created and edited our own work.
2. The identified grade levels will be 3-5.
3. The subject matters include creative writing, storytelling, analyzing
information and creating visual representation of the data
as well as implementing a voice thread using Vocaroo.
4. The goal for these projects is to build upon student’s prior knowledge of
technology while expanding their skills in
application of technology. Another goal is that students will identify the
technology and its application in everyday use.
5. This project has the potential to facilitate learning within the classroom
in ways which enrich language and creative storytelling. By creating
and analyzing graphs students utilize problem solving skills
and connect visual representation of collected data.
