Goldfish Center

Directions For the Goldfish Center

Look at the goldfish in the aquarium. Take the modeling clay provided and create a fish and make it as lifelike as possible. After you have constructed your fish enjoy eating your goldfish crackers.

The picture shows an Appalachian State University student's clay goldfish after completing this center.

The Basic Science Process Skill that the Goldfish Center used was communicating.  The modeling clay gave students the opportunity to use art to communicate the physical characteristics of the goldfish.

I personally feel our Science Circus center went very well. Mr. Goodman, the instructor, did mention one modification, provide modeling clay that is the same color of the goldfish. The clay that my group used was multi color, which did not provide a true representation of the goldfish being modeled.

Heartbeat Center
