Relationships in a Classroom

Classroom Management
relatee.JPG

I remember my first couple weeks in my Relationships in a Classroom course.  I’d often wonder why it was named Relationships in a Classroom as opposed to Classroom Management.  Since the Relationships in a Classroom course has come to an end, I have realized that the reason for the name is simple; classroom management has everything to do with relationships that take place within the classroom.  Teachers, students, parents, we all have an important role in the classroom, and my role is to make sure that the relationships between these 3 groups of people runs smoothly and effectively.  In order to have a well-managed, flourishing classroom with students eager to learn and willing to show respect, it is my job as the teacher to develop well communicated, honest relationships with parents, students and other teachers.  I have heard classroom management is one of the most difficult skills for teachers to feel successful in; it is no wonder why, for well all know that relationships can sometimes be hard work.

The links above will guide you into the course work I have completed in this course.  I have researched reward systems and have discovered which are most effective, I have learned my management style(s), proactive, corrective and supportive techniques, and I have developed a final philosophy of my beliefs and goals as a classroom manager.
