From learning to spice up a webpage to searching for education links, the Internet/Web course was very helpful and informative. During this course our class created a cultural calendar, which prompted us to search for different cultures and holidays on the web, and then place them into our calendar so that we would become knowledgeable about when and what different cultures are celebrating. We also searched for WebQuests for children and students. WebQuests challenge students to use critical thinking and can be a useful tool in the classroom to encourage students to learn more about the web. We also learned about cyberbullying and how parents and teachers can prevent this harmful trend from getting worse. Our class also searched for internet/web terms such as dial-up and cable modem, so we would learn the popular but confusing terms of the internet. The most important part of this course was the process and creating of our online teacher portfolio in TaskStream. TaskStream is a creative way for future and current teachers to present accomplishments and proof of experiences on the Internet. This class will assist future teachers in developing a portfolio as well as more knowledge about the Internet/Web.
