During my Children's Literature course I had the opportunity to teach two lessons in my service learning classroom. I planned the lessons (connecting them to Arizona standards), performed a read-aloud to the class (asking questions before, during and after reading), had students complete a reader-response activity, and reflected on how the lesson went. These two lessons were the first I ever created and delivered by myself and they went very well. There were of course things I could improve upon for next time, but they were great experiences and practice.
