Position Overview
Through Loyola's Social Justice Internship Program, I served 300 hours with Catholic Charities of Chicago understanding immigration law from a non-profit standpoint. Specifically, I helped undocumented immigrants who are victims of violent crimes gain legal immigration status in the United States and help them stabilize their lives through the context of U-VISA/VAWA/I-751 applications.
Organization Description
The Catholic Charities Immigrant Survivors Project provides comprehensive specialized legal services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, dating violence and stalking. The ISP offers immigration legal assistance including representation in matters of VAWA, U-VISA and other immigration-related remedies.
