Since moving to Chicago, every year I participate in the city's AIDS Run/walk on behalf of Loyola. The realities of this epidemic have become a cause I care about. Proceeds from this event go towards the AIDS Foundation of Chicago (AFC). AFC uses these funds to "collaborate with community organizations to develop and improve HIV/AIDS services; fund and coordinate prevention, care, and advocacy projects; and champion effective, compassionate HIV/AIDS policy." To learn more about this great organization and how you can get involved, please visit www.aidschicago.org.
