Promoting Justice and Peace: University/Community Collaborative Initiatives
June 18-21, 2013 Nairobi, Kenya
This unique interactive conference, with 100 to 150 invited participants, brings together representatives from universities, community organizations, NGOs, nonprofits, business and government. The conference provides a platform for participants to network, share information and ideas and begin developing innovative collaborative solutions to critical issues and needs related to social justice and peace.
Conference activities are designed for mutual learning and establishing ongoing collaboration in applied research and creative initiatives to improve community health, education, environment, technology access, and economic status. Prominent keynote speakers, targeted panel presentations, applied skill workshops, and focused roundtable discussions will provide opportunities for dialogue to work toward collaborative grassroots research, grant proposals and action plans for community projects.
Conference tracks focus on these targeted issues: Education, Environment, Health/Medicine, Entrepreneurship, Technology/Media, and Interfaith Initiatives. Edited video packages with digital documentation of sessions will be produced as educational resources.
