Madison Elementary - PUSD

From September of 2004 through March of 2006, I volunteered at Madison Elementary in Pasadena Unified School District. Once a year,I would visit Mrs.Ickes' 1st grade classroom wearing a character costume from a popular children's book series(on loan from the Scholastic Book Fair)and read a book from the series to the class.In two of these photographs I am dressed as the lovable but mischievous monkey, "Curious George."

Throughout each year, I also enjoyed implementing lesson plans I had designed in the areas of language arts, science, and social studies.

Working at Madison showed me how I could have a positive impact working with students in public schools that have a high percentage of English Language Learners.
