Reshaè M Crawford

Hi, my name is Reshaè Crawford. Since I can remember, I have been fascinated with the medical field. I can remember telling my father, as so many young children do, that I wanted to be a doctor. I knew at the tender age of eight, that one day I would care for the sick and "heal" the unhealthy. Growing up I had the privilege of witnessing my mother obtain her vocational nurse licensure. I watched her spend countless hours studying as a single parent with three kids. I had the opportunity to visit her job and see the work she did. It was then I knew I no longer wanted to be a doctor, but a hands-on participant in health care, a nurse. I followed in my mother's footsteps and began working as a licensed vocational nurse in 2006. Throughout my years as an LVN, I knew I wanted something more. Six years later I went back to school and in December of 2012 I walked across the stage to claim my advanced degree as a Registered nurse. Boy, was I proud! I had more responsibility, I was hands-on in the health field, and my compensation was not bad. I was still missing something. So for the last two years, I have dedicated my time and efforts into becoming a Bachelor prepared nurse at Western Governors University. I am excited to know that I am an emerging leader in health care, that I am equipped to serve my community with the confidence of leadership, knowledge, and experience.
