Taking the various courses on the Institution for Healthcare Improvement will help me to see that I am now not just a staff nurse but I am a leader in the health care profession. Bachelor prepared nurses are able to assume management level roles. In these roles, I will be able to utilize my knowledge in quality improvement to enact change regarding gaps I see at my facility. I will have a great respect for patient safety, and when I see it in danger I will be able to design a root cause analysis to fix the problem. With my IHI certificate, I can boldly show my employers that I am interested in changes in health care.
