Rationale for Newsletter:

Context-

Using Microsoft Publisher, I created a 1-page newsletter to send home with the students in my block internship at Mountain View Elementary School.  I scanned a childhood photo and a current professional photo to put into the newsletter.  I included the dates that I will be at the internship, clip art, and information about myself.

Impact-

When I teach I can use Microsoft Publisher to make newsletters to send home with my students.  I can also use Publisher to make websites or brochures.  Microsoft is an easy program to use to make documents look professional.

Alignment-

I have met competency VC because creating newsletters on computer is much more efficient than using paper and pencil.  I can reuse this newsletter from year to year and change it as I need to.

I have met NET-S competency VD and NCDPI standard for elementary educators #16, indicator 3 because this newsletter allows me to communicate with parents using technology.
