Context:
I am in the process of completing my student teaching at A.B. Combs Elementary in Wake county. The students teaching experience occurred in the fall semester and was started on August 21, 2006 and will be completed on December 5, 2006

Impact:
This student teaching experience has allowed me the opportunity to participate in a variety of professional development events. These events have occurred during the normal work day and are a requirement for all full time Combs staff. This experience has allowed me to gain a better understanding of a teachers professional duties outside of teaching the curriculum.

Alignment:
I met NCDPI Standard 16 indicator 2 by attending staff meeting on the Monday afternoon of each week held from 3:30pm to 4:45pm
I met NCDPI Standard 16 indicator 5 by attending the grade level meeting held every Tuesday from 9:40am to 10:25 where upcoming events were discussed and expectations from the administration were communicated.
I met NCDPI Standard 16 indicator 6 by welcoming other classroom teachers and administration into the class to observe lessons and post-conferenced with them about strengths or weaknesses they saw.
I met NCDPI Standard 16 indicator 9 by attending the biweekly grade level planning meeting were all grade level members discuss the upcoming curriculum and any resource or concerns they have to acclimate the instruction to meet the NCSCS.
