Science Circus Measuring Volume

Materials

  • Three containers with fill lines marked
  • Tub of Water (with food coloring)
  • Scoop
  • Science Note Book

Procedure

</FONT>1) Estimate how many scoops it will take to fill each container to the marked line.
2) Predict which container will hold the most water.
3) Measure, with the scoop, and fill each container to the line.
4) Record the number of scoops it took to fill each container.
5) Compare the results of your earlier prediction.

*Record your results in your Science Notebook.*

Suggestions:
• Use rice not water (less mess)
• Cut off tops of bottles Materials:
• 3 different sized bottles
• 1 scooper
• large tub w/water
• food coloring
