Building Updates:

The newly renovated Orange High School Auditorium was raised on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 and the event kicked off with a celebration of students' performances and activities that will occur throughout the school year. The Orange High School Auditorium first opened its doors in 1958. After nearly 60 years and thousands of performances, the auditorium was in need of major renovations. Permanent Improvement funds were used for this project as a part of the Orange School District's Future Vision Master Campus Plan.

STATE TESTING CONTINUES THIS WEEK

The State of Ohio's End-of-Course exams, developed by the American Institute of Research (AIR) began last week and will continue for the next couple of weeks.  Students have been scheduled into the exams based on their current courses according to the daily schedule identified below: 

April 25 and May 2                Algebra/Geometry (Grades 9 and 10)

April 26 and May 3                American History (Grade 10)

April 29 and May 6                Biology (Grade 9)

UPCOMING BLOCK SCHEDULES

Due to the College Board's Advanced Placement (AP) Exam schedule, there will be NO BLOCK SCHEDULE IN MAY.  Since there will not be a block schedule in May, classes will follow a normal start time on Wednesday mornings of 7:30am.  The last delayed start Wednesday morning will take place on Wednesday, April 27.

SENIORS LAST WEEK!

It is hard to believe but this is the final week of classes for the Class of 2016! Senior students will begin their Senior Projects on Monday, April 25 and are scheduled to conclude Friday, May 20.  Students will be scheduled for their Senior Project presentations during the week of May 23.

"SENIOR WEEK" 2016

The final week of school prior to graduation is filled with activities for the Senior students.  A detailed letter will be sent to all parents of students in the Class of 2016 later this week.  Below is a brief outline for the week of May 23 -29:

ATTENTION PARENTS OF SENIORS: SONG FOR SENIOR DINNER

The Senior Dinner for graduates is being held on Thursday, May 26 at 6:30pm at Executive Caterers at Landerhaven.  Traditionally, parents of senior students make a surprise appearance at the start of the evening to perform a song written expecially for their class.  The song is short, simple, includes works written about their class and is set to the tune or a song we all know.   

Rehearsal for the song will be Monday, May 16 at 6:30pm in the Commons at the High School.  Practice will last no more than an hour.  Please try to attend so we can have a run-through beforehand, which will help the performance go smoother.  Even if you can't make the rehearsal, you are encouraged to participate in the performance.  If you have questions, please emal Valerie Furst at valerifurst@gmail.com.

Final Exams for students in grades 9-11 are scheduled for the week of May 30; the exam schedule is identified below: 

Monday, May 30             NO SCHOOL, Memorial Day

Wednesday, June 1        7:20am   Social Studies

                                    9:20am   Science    

Thursday, June 2           7:20am   World Languages
