This artifact is from one of the many administrative board meetings the department holds every 2 weeks. In these meetings they discuss where each class is in their learning and a place where teachers can share what lessons or activities have gotten the students more interested in the subject. I placed this in the "Collaboration" standard because all the teachers from the Social Studies department come together with the principal and share ideas with one another in a safe and non-judgemental enviornment about lessons, how their students are working and where they think needs improvement.

For a brief period during my student teaching career I managed to be an assisstant coach for the Dunn Middle School boys basketball team. I not only managed to work with other teachers in the school, who happened to also coach the team, but I had the oppurtunity to interact with the students as they grew, not only into great athletes but better students as well. With this, I also managed to interact with some of the players parents to get their support in helping us, the coaches get the most out of our athletes in the classroom but also on the court. Every practice the coaches urged them to keep their grades up if they wanted to continue playing, and the students responded. Reason for putting this in the "Collaboration" standard is because working with other collegues in the school was a major benefit because I got to see them in an different light. In a way, I was be taught how to coach from other teachers in the school while working with the students. I noticed the students have grown and developed as athletes and grew into better students and young men.
