Soft Tissue Injuries

Anthony's Knee.jpg

You will learn how to manage soft tissue injuries such as abrasions, punctures, amputations, and lacerations.

You will be taught how to evaulate the seriousness of the wound, how to clean it out, if and how to close the wound. Should you use a simple band-aid, butterfly bandage, steri strip, staples, or suture.

You will be taught how, and when it might be appropriate, to suture a wound closed while in the back-country.
This photo is from an injured hiker on Mt. Timpanogos at 10,000 feet.
