Materials related to E-Portfolios: What arer They Good For? April 16, 2014


Materials related to the presentation are posted here as text documents, Power Point Slides, and links.  The text documents and links provide information regarding the content and purpose of E-portfolios.  The materials will help you develop assignments and projects that can become "artifacts" in a student's or your own E-Portfolio.  They will also help you prepare for the E-Portfoilio sessions during May Days.  A complete May Days Schedule is posted on the CETL webpage.

    A good overview of a learning E-Portfolio. Provides a theoretical framework and practical advice for how to develop and use E-portfolios as learning tools.

    This video is directed at students in Education programs preparing to be teachers, but the information could be applicable to other professional programs.

    This E-Portfolio is a good example of the effective use of multi-media.

    This video is about a half-hour long. It gives details on what to include in an E-Portfolio. You might want to assign it in 15 minute sessions as a preview before class session(s) on E-Portfolios.

    A brief article on how employers view E-Portfolios as part of the hiring process. It also contains a link to the Hart Report, a survey on what employers are looking for in employees.

    LUC has fully integrated E-Portfolios into their courses, curricular and co-curricular programs, and assessment across all four years of a student's education and as a presentation tool for post-baccalaureate education and employment.

    this link is to a video, about 60 minutes, on how to construct and use an E-Portfolio as part of ones preparation for being a teacher. It includes elements of a learning portfolio to be used to document learning and to assess attainment of SLO's and as a showcase portfolio to present oneself for licensure or employment.
