Component Area Option

comprising six student credit hours

March 2013 -- A faculty committee headed by Professor Brandon Wood developed the process for evaluating the Component Area Option proposals.  Work products and meeting minutes are attached below.  Discuss your interests and questions with any committee member / participant in the process, listed below.

Component Area Option schedule and action log:

  • January 28, 2013 - criteria discussed
  • February 8, 2013 - chair appointed and criteria & process discussed
  • February 14, 2013 - criteria & process discussed; deadlines set (minutes attached)
  • February 25, 2013 - all instructional departments select voting delegate
  • March 1, 2013 - Component Area Option proposal first drafts due
  • March 7, 2013 - committee meets, 3 pm. Received compiled CAO proposals (attached as of 3/7/2013) for critique phase.
  • March 21-29 - Phase 1 of voting. (use CRITERIA . . . sheet and model to be provided by Brandon Wood after spring break). Send 'votes' / feedback to jane.zimmerman@ctcd.edu to be compiled.
  • April 5, 2013 - reviews compiled and returned to proposers for recommended revisions.
  • May 6, 2013 - Component Area Option second drafts due , prepared for final vote.
  • May 9, 2013 - final votes due from department representatives.
