 Faculty Department Chairs –

 We held the workshops that you requested in the Dean’s October meeting. Wednesday, November 16, 8 – 10 am, Wednesday, November 16, 1:30 – 3:30 pm, Thursday, November 17, 8 – 10 am, Thursday, November 17, 1:30 – 3:25 pm, and as needed for chairs not available at those times. We met in the Library Graduate Seminar room (209)

The focus of these workshops was to assist you in completing the program reviews that most have well underway. I want to be sure to cover the topics of most interest to the groups, so please indicate the items that you want coaching on (most of these are from the Program Review Report outline (p 6):

• Clarifying the difference between your IE plan/report and your LOA (learning outcomes assessment) work.
• Articulating the program mission / purpose.
• Writing program learning outcomes / goals (this is a summary step to use for mapping).
• Describing / summarizing the process by which you make changes to the program.
• Listing program / curriculum changes over the past 3 years, with rationale.
• Program mapping – the program curriculum plan.
• Faculty and program delivery / course delivery profiles.
• Student attainment / program assessment plan.
• External evaluation tools.
• Recommendations for improvement.
• Future plans & prospects.

If you need resources in advance of these workshops, please call me! And if you have sections of your review report nearly complete and want feedback, please send them. We need to complete the program reviews by the end of the semester.
