Discovery Question:  What are some of the equity issues regarding technology in schools? As a teacher, what will you need to be aware of when asking students to use technology? How can you make technology use more equitable?

Agenda:  Webpage Presentations and Critiques, Classroom Policy Guides and Mid-Course Reflection

• Students will present Web pages while students critique them,
• Overview of classroom technology use policy guide for students.
• Mid-Course equity reflection

ASSIGNMENT:

1. Write a technology policy for your classroom using a word processing program such as Microsoft Word or Open Office Writer.DUE: Post to Taskstream and email to Miranda by September 21.

1. Write a one page typed, double-spaced reflection about technology and equity. Questions to get you started:

How will you as a teacher make sure that your students have equitable access to technology?

How will you make sure that you use technology in advanced, progressive ways that teach critical thinking?

How will you advocate for your own classroom and for your school to ensure that you have adequate technology and other tools?

What social changes need to take place to ensure digital equity?

Last paragraph -- What have you learned so far in this class that you hope to use in your own classroom? What topics related to education and technology would you still like to learn about?
