ICTS 2: Learning Differences

Standard 2: Learning Differences. The teacher uses understanding of individual differences and diverse cultures and communities to ensure inclusive learning environments that enable each learner to meet high standards.

Performance

ICTS 2.P(f): 
The teacher designs, adapts, and delivers instruction to address each student's diverse learning strengths and needs and creates opportunities for students to demonstrate their learning in different ways.

ICTS 2.P(g):
The teacher makes appropriate and timely provisions (e.g., pacing for individual rates of growth, task demands, communication, assessment, response modes) for individual students with particular learning differences or needs.

ICTS 2.P(h):
The teacher designs instruction to build on learners' prior knowledge and experiences, allowing learners to accelerate as they demonstrate their understandings.

ICTS 2.P(i):
The teacher brings multiple perspectives to the discussion of content, including attention to learners' personal, family, and community experiences and cultural norms.

ICTS 2.P(j):
The teacher incorporates tools of language development into planning and instruction, including strategies for making content accessible to English language learners and for evaluating and supporting their development of English proficiency.

ICTS 2.P(k):
The teacher accesses resources, supports, and specialized assistance and services to meet particular learning differences or needs.



INSTRUCTIONS

1. Provide links, attachments, etc., to artifacts that support your competency across the six performance indicators of this standard.

2. Provide a self-analysis as to why you feel you have earned a "Proficient," "Basic," or "Unsatisfactory" score in the performance indicators of this Standard.

  

Required artifacts:

  • Unit plan utilizing TES Unit Plan Template or other authorized template
  • 2 lesson plans (one to be taught as a lesson in the unit; one from another subject/unit), utilizing TES Lesson Plan Template or other authorized template

Note: Between the required and optional self-chosen artifacts submitted, candidates should address all the performance indicators of this standard. The unit and lesson plans submitted for this standard may also be utilized as evidence for other standards, as different elements of the plans address different standards.
