In May of 2013, I graduated with a B.S. in Advertising and Public Relations with a minor in Visual Communications from Loyola University Chicago. For the past two years, I have been exploring the world of corporate and non-profit communication trying to decide which industry I fit in and where I would like to take my career.
After graduation, I procured an internship at No Limit Agency, one of Chicago’s fastest growing communications firm. While there I worked in two different departments, relationship development and social media. My internship focused on relationship development with franchisees for various large companies, working with the pitching team to help the efforts in securing media for clients and I also wrote for 1851project.com. My story on 1851project.com currently holds the position of the top read article since the websites launch with over 3,000 views.
Previous to that internship I worked for eight months at Youth Outreach Services. Youth Outreach Services (YOS) is a non-profit that works with at-risk youth. While working there I was in charge of a rebranding effort. As part of the rebranding effort I worked on creating flyers, fact sheets, and updating their social media pages including Twitter, Facebook and daily blogs. I also worked with my boss, Claire Barner, to secure a venue and create content for YOS’ annual meeting. This included brochures, nametags, place settings and table toppers.
My passion for writing was an outlet for my creativity as a child. I now plan to take this passion and apply it to my career. Graphic Design has become an integral part of my college studies. While studying at Loyola I have taken classes in Advertising Layout and Graphic Design, these classes have fanned the flames of my love for graphic design. I have designed magazine and newspaper layouts, full advertising campaigns, postcards, posters, and book covers.
I would make a great addition to this organization. I am willing to learn and take on any assignment with enthusiasm. If given a task I will finish it quickly and to the best of my abilities. My passion for people, advertising, writing and being creative allows me to be a well-rounded team member. I am dependable, flexible and highly motivated to succeed and to contribute to the success of my employer.
