The above quote sums up my belief as a teacher. I believe that teaching comes from your heart rather than the material on a page. A good teacher has the ability to use his or her own experiences and shortcomings to inspire creativity and foster self-worth in the students that he or she teaches. A teacher has to be selfless, in that he or she puts their students needs before their own, between the hours of eight and three, nine months out of the year. A teacher is someone who believes, with all of their heart, in the abilities of the students within the classroom, and works all year to build that belief in each one of them. A teacher is someone who can teach a lesson and inspire a child to do great things.

My name is Jessica Fisher and after four years of pursuing an Education degree, I am finally at the end. This experience has been bittersweet for me. During each placement in a classroom, I have grown to love the students and want to stay with them, but each new semester brings a new set of students to teach and to love. At the end of it all, I can look back and smile on all thing wonderful lessons that I have taught, but more importantly on all the things that my students have taught me.

I have learned a great deal over the last four years, and I am looking forward to putting these lessons to good use in my own classroom one day.
