The Center for Experiential Learning (CEL) at Loyola University Chicago houses the following programs:
Mission:
Advancing Loyola’s Jesuit Catholic mission of “expanding knowledge in the service of humanity,” the Center for Experiential Learning collaborates with campus, community, and employer partners to promote, develop, and implement academic experiential learning through teaching, research, and service.
General Duties include:
- Develop robust experiential learning program through four university-wide programs (academic service-learning, academic internships, undergraduate research and electronic portfolios)
- Manage and supervise team of seven professional employees and six student assistants
- Meet with faculty, staff, students and community partners to connect and facilitate experiential learning through community engagement and employer relationships
- Develop community partnerships with organizations in Chicago-land community
- Budget administrator for Center for Experiential Learning
- Program Director for Provost Fellowship for Undergraduate Research
- Develop experiential learning courses
- Develop, implemente, and facilitate the Engaged Scholars Program for Faculty and the Scholarship of Engagement Series for faculty
