2015 Carnegie Community Engagement Classification

Facilitated university-wide data collection for Community Engagement classification through the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching. Loyola University Chicago successfully achieved this designation through the re-application process.

President's Community Service Honor Roll

[Presidents Honor Roll]

 Facilitated university-wide data collection and authored the President’s Community Service Honor Roll application.

 Loyola University Chicago successfully received the Honor Roll in 2008.

 Loyola University Chicago successfully received the Honor Roll with distinction in 2009.

 Loyola University Chicago received the 2010 Presidential Awardee.

Loyola University Chicago received the  2011-2012 Finalist for Presidential Awardee

(Full Honor Roll List for 2011 - 2012 featuring Loyola as Finalist).

Loyola University Chicago received the Honor Roll with Distinction in 2013.

Loyola University Chicago achieved the 2014 Finalist for Presidential Awardee (one of 16 institutions). In addition, Loyola received Honor Roll with Distinction in the categories of General Community Service, Economic Opportunity, and Interfaith Community Service.

Received the Good News Community Kitchen B'Yachad Award for Collaboration

  • Good News Community Kitchen is a site for many service-learning students at Loyola University Chicago
  • Conducted a community-based research project through my course UNIV 291: Seminar in Community-based Research
  • Students project included community mapping, developing a profile of alderman and local representatives for advocacy work, and data mapping legislative and aldermanic boundaries.

Carter Partnership Award for Campus-Community Partnerships

Facilitated the Carter Partnership Award for Campus-Community Partnerships based on Dr. Diane Schiller's work in School of Education, and the campus community partnership with Swift elementary school.  

Loyola received second place in the Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter Partnership Awards for Campus-Community Collaboration, a state-wide award sponsored by Illinois Campus Compact awarded for exemplary campus community partnerships.  This award featured Loyola's partnership with George B. Swift Specialty School, facilitated by Loyola education professor Diane Schiller, PhD, who has partnered with the Swift School in Edgewater for over 17 years.
