Portfolio Rationale

Context:

This portfolio was created for CI 3750, Integrating Media and Technology into Teaching, beginning in the spring of 2007 and continuing through the spring of 2008. It was created under the advisement of Mary Rogers. It includes artifacts from Block I, Block II, and student teaching.

Impact:

The purpose of this portfolio is not only to organize graduation standards and their corresponding work, but also to showcase the lesson plans and work of the pre-service teacher. Schools will be able to access the portfolio and view samples of the teacher candidate's work. It also provides a place to keep lesson plans and activities to be used in the future classroom. Having a collection of lesson plans is beneficial to both the teacher and their students. It reveals that the students have an organized and competent teacher who is already prepared to instruct them in creative and effective ways.

  This standard deals with teachers demonstrating a basic knowledge of technology. It was met because the teacher used a computer, scanner, word processor, and Taskstream, to upload the various projects, lesson plans, and activities included in the portfolio.
