Context

In my CI3750 class, during the spring semester of 2007, I used TaskStream to make a webpage for my internship and possibly for my future elementary classroom.  The address for this webpage is http://www.taskstream.com/ts/hambacher/class.html and the password is classroom.  I made this webpage, so I will be able to keep the classroom parents and students up to date on all the up coming events.  The webpage has lots of helpful information on it.  I put my personal information and when I will be able to talk not during school hours on there.  This gives parents the ability to contact me anytime. The webpage also includes links to the school’s home page and the NC curriculum.  On the classroom webpage, there are separate sections for the classroom calendar, homework page, student page, parent page, and photo gallery.  The photo gallery includes pictures from the classroom.  Before I posted any pictures of students, I made sure I sent out a media release form and got permission from the student’s parents/guardians.  The calendar page just has a list of events on it.

Impact

By having a classroom webpage, I will be able to create a way to keep the parents well informed.  The webpage will have multiple links that are resources for both parents and students.

Alignment

I was able to hit all a lot of standards with this project.  By creating a webpage for the classroom, I will be able to help students learn about technology when using it.  There will be links for students to click on and find resources and this helped me meet Standard IIa.  The links on the webpage will be appropriate for students to learn from and by putting up accurate links, I met Standard IIc.  Since I have the calendar and a homework assignment page on the website, I will help students learn in a technology environment. All of the links on the website helps me to continuously learn new things and this helped me met Standard Va.  When I sent out the media release form, I met Standard VIa.  I made the website appropriate for all views, so that allowed me to meet Standard VIc.
